Abstract

The performance of a Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) performance using Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) technology is evaluated procedurally in this paper. In our research, our main interest was to provide triple play service with GPON FTTH Network so that every user can get gigabit/s support for the upcoming 5G network and suppress the use of microwave communication where possible. A variety of network links were established between the various coverage areas using network components such as optical network terminals (ONTs), inbuilt Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM), Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifiers (EDFA), Small form-factor pluggable (SFP), optical network units (ONUs), and splitters.
