Utilizing IBM plug-compatible disks on the CDC channel

Abstract

After exploring the issue further, it was found that while the hardware might do this, there was no software available for the CDC computer to drive the adapters. After negotiations with NSC, we proceeded to acquire an All0 adapter (for hooking to the CDC channel) and an A510 adapter (for simulating an IBM channel), with the understanding that we would attempt to develop software to drive disks. We also acquired a Memorex 3672/3673/3675 disk subsystem, equivalent to a pair of IBM 3330 II drives.
