Abstract

The photovoltaic power system for residential and building integrated application is sensitive to the mismatch of the electrical parameters due to the partial shadows, different orientations, variations of current- voltage characteristics of the photovoltaic panels. As a result, the yield of the system decreases remarkably, in severe cases, the hot-spot problem can arise and the photovoltaic modules can be irreversibly damaged. In order to improved the system performance and maximize the energy converter efficiency under the mismatch condition, a novel DC-module- based photovoltaic power system is proposed.
