Implementing A Web-Based Application Integrated With OCR To Address Generic Medicine Unpopularity Issues

Abstract

The Indian government launched Janaushadhi stores in 2008 to encourage the use of generic medications, which was a well-intentioned governmental policy that has yet to take off. Affordable healthcare is the need of the hour. Through our web application, users will be able to search for generic medicines using brand name, composition, and symptoms. The application enables them to know the generic medicine availability in their nearby Janaushadhi centers and provides an interface through which the users can get the equivalent generic medicine substitute for the corresponding brand medicine. The main purpose of this application is to develop a web application that is quite efficient for getting information about generic medicines. Web application provides an option to upload a prescription through which the users can get the equivalent generic medicine substitute for the corresponding brand medicine.
