Pregnancy Induced Hypertension is hypertension with or without proteinuria emerging after 20 weeks gestation, but resolving not later than 12 weeks postpartum.[1] Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy contributes significantly to morbidity and mortality in the fetus and mother both in the developed and developing countries with PIH listed as one of the top three causes of maternal mortality.[2] Abstract
