Online monetary donations to mitigate the impacts of the COVID-19 crisis

Abstract

This chapter suggests that the model used could indeed capture the way in which donors’ orientate toward online monetary donation;this translates ultimately into social solidarity and cohesion in encountering the various impacts of pandemics such as COVID-19 In the online donation model, the endogenous construct of attitude possesses a high value, indicating that the exogenous constructs can collectively explain approximately 30 per cent of the variance level of donors’ attitudes toward online donation for those affected by the COVID-19 crisis In a rapid and strategic response to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour, on Saturday, 28 March 2020, launched a fundraising campaign to deliver timely and effective support to the most affected vulnerable groups In 2018, 70 per cent of the Kuwaiti population of some 4 2 million were migrant workers © 2021 selection and editorial matter, M Kabir Hassan, Aishath Muneeza, and Adel M Sarea
