Abstract

In this study we compare helix and patch array antenna characteristics for wireless power transfer (WPT). It will be shown that the helices offer higher link efficiency for a similar beam scanning limit compared to patch antenna elements. We provide 12-by-12 element planar array results for both cases at different element spacings. The frequency band of interest is ISM 2.4-2.5GHz and we do the comparisons in this range.
