Abstract

A summary of the cognitive and emotional dimensions can lead to better understanding of the perception of a luxury hotel. This study confirms the idea that the perception of luxury value is influenced not only by the social purpose aussi by financial, functional and individual aspects. This study showed that the norms and standards of the hotels are not always synonymous with luxury. Therefore, an empirical study was done. This study shows that customers in the hospitality sector have different perceptions of luxury of five star hotels and that the standards of stars is not enough to be used in measuring the luxury of hotels.
