Domestic statistics and mainstream economics

Abstract

Theoretical statements of the classics of the «mainstream» of economy, presented in the form of econometric formulas, should be confirmed by empirical studies on the indicators of modern statistics. Domestic statistics, based on the traditions of planned economy, completes the transition to international data production standards. The 2024 Strategy Rosstat, adopted in 2018, is aimed at deepening international integration, which, in turn, will allow the application of achievements of world economic thought in assessing development of the country, its regions, industries and social sphere of the Russian society. As foreign experience shows, there are many institutes in the countries that are engaged in their own research based on the data obtained by them. Today, when the role of the state as the main player in the market is immeasurably increasing, and at the same time digitalization of data collection and processing is increasing, Russian statistics with its experience and methods of planned economy would have the role of legislator of world statistics. Currently, this role is hindered by the interdepartmental disunity of state institutions artificially created by legislators, poor training of statisticians and its correspondents.
