The paper presents infocommunications as an evolving expansion of telecommunications with information processing and content management functions. A mathematical model of a real-world problem of determining the speed and quality of the information transmission within infocommunication systems is presented. It has the form of a multicriteria Euclidean combinatorial optimization problem. Approaches to the problem solution such as the Branch and Bound method, graph methods such as the directed structuring are recommended. Abstract

Infocommunications is a new developing sector of the economy based on the integration of information and telecommunication technologies. In infocommunications, communication systems are used to transmit information of different nature to any distance. The unification of telecommunications and information technologies into a single industry of infocommunications is a global trend focused on developing a telecommunications network and expanding the number of global information services on its basis.
