Causes of the 2008 Financial Crisis

Abstract

The 2008 Financial Crisis was one of the most world-shaking events in the last two decades. In this paper, some of the root causes are analyzed and framed using differing philosophical schools of thought from Karl Marx as well as Milton Friedman. The morality of these causes is evaluated through the scope of these two philosophers as well as the general practices and ethics that modern, Western civilization subscribes to.
