Abstract

In this paper, the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method is used to study the coupling through CD-ROM and display screen on industrial controlling computers under electromagnetic illumination. The hole of CD-ROM and display screen on the computer enclosure is simulated and the coupled electromagnetic interference (EMI) into the industrial controlling computer is analyzed. Ultra-wide Bandwidth (UWB) is used here as the source, and both the time-domain waveforms and field distribution in the computer are all monitored.
