Abstract

Reliability of a substation is probability to perform its function adequately for the intended period of time under specified condition with stability, security and ease of maintenance. Reliability is of prime importance for any Extra High Voltage substation. This paper has taken in consideration a 400/220/132 kV Asoj substation. In this paper, Main focus is on improvement in reliability of substation. Substation has been designed with bus schemes which improve the reliability of substation. Improvement in reliability is justified by designing substation with One and a half breaker scheme at 400 kV voltage level. 220 kV side of this substation has been designed with Two main and a transfer bus scheme.
