Abstract

The influence of liquid crystal (LC) thermotropic characteristics, alignment layer and phase boundary surface on the planar, homeotropic and focal conic structures of smectic A (SA) LC during S/sub A/-N phase transition was investigated. The data obtained can be used for LC-filling display technology and for enhance of LCD image quality.
