Cloud Adoption in Ecuador: Current Status, Challenges and Opportunities

Abstract

Cloud computing services can significantly reduce an organization’s IT cost while improving the fault tolerance and scalability of its services. However, developing and emerging markets have been slow in adopting cloud technologies. We report on the results of a study on the state of adoption of cloud computing services in Ecuador. We analyze the results and identify challenges and opportunities that arise from the current state of adoption. Our results can be leveraged by cloud providers to design better strategies to increase their participation in developing and emerging markets, as well as by IT companies to better market their cloud solutions.
