Abstract

Based on the results of the BERKOM Broadband-ISDN pilot project the Research Institute for Open Communication Systems (FOKUS) has started in the beginning of 1993 with the procurement and installation of inhouse ATM equipment. Since then the ATM-Lab has been continously growing and presently comprises ATM switches of four different vendors (Fore Systems, Synoptics, Siemens, Cisco).
