Abstract
The constant envelope paired burst (CEPB) OFDM technique allows the use of a single grossly nonlinear amplifier in low-cost, power-efficient transmitters. It is well known that a good carrier synchronization is mandatory in conventional OFDM schemes; CEPB-OFDM schemes also have strong carrier synchronization requirements. We propose and evaluate a fast, open-loop carrier synchronization scheme that takes advantage of the signal structure of CEPB-OFDM.
