Haptic technology and its application in education and learning

Abstract

Haptic technology provides a new human-computer interactive method, which allows the user to feel the motion and haptic information in virtual environment with haptic devices, and it's also a new kind of learning means. In this paper we explained the basic concepts of haptic technology and how haptic technology works, followed by a summary of main haptic devices and the key technologies included in haptic technology. Through our work of analysis and summary of the haptic application in education and learning, we found that it features with diversified education and teaching levels, education and teaching subjects and education and teaching forms.
