Abstract

In this paper, we investigate the integration of HLA/RTI with VRML/X3D in order to provide a training facility that can be accessed through a traditional web browser. We apply our proposed architecture on a test bed that consists of a cancer treatment scenario within a 3D virtual Radiology Department. We have incorporated the High Level Architecture HLA standard as an important corner stone in allowing the e-learning environment to be distributed and interactive.
