A Semiotic Study of Dreaming in the Yellow Emperor's Inner Classics

Abstract

Dreaming, as a sign of body, is expressed by mental icon to dreamer. Dreaming is the representation of dreamer's life condition and disease. This paper investigates the medical meaning in the Yellow Emperor's Inner Classics in the context of semiotic studies. It is found that the meaning of dreaming is decided by cultural community and proves the original thinking of traditional Chinese medicine. Keywords—the Yellow Emperor's Inner Classics; dreaming;
