Abstract

The image algebra formalism provides a succinct high level algebraic method of describing many image processing algorithms. By exploiting this formalism it is possible to map the mathematical algorithms, for which pixel level parallelism is transparent, into C++ computer code which can be portable across all MIMD, SIMD, and sequential architectures.
