Such allocations of reactive and real power sources not only reduces the total cost but minimizes the real power loss, enhances the voltage profile and provide reliability benefits also. The formulated cost function depends upon cost per unit loss, installation cost due to Capacitor and DG allocation and also the cost associated for per kVAr and kW injection of Capacitor and DG respectively. Basic reliability index such as failure rate has been estimated before and after allocation of the reactive and real power sources. The proposed technique has been implemented in standard IEEE 33 bus radial distribution system to check the effectiveness of the proposed method.
