Abstract

Upon completion of this chapter, the reader should be able to • Discuss issues, implications, diagnosis, and treatment of substance abuse in HIV-positive individuals. The prevalence of substance use in HIV-positive individuals is high, with rates of abuse/dependence much greater than those in the normal population.
