DESCRIPTION OF THE ASIAN PART OF THE MEDITERRANEAN COAST IN THE GEOGRAPHIC WORK OF ABŪ AL-FIDĀ’

Статья посвящена анализу информации о портовых городах азиатской части средиземноморского побережья, сохранившейся в географическом сочинении сирийского географа и историка Абу-л-Фиды «Упорядочение стран» (Та╗в╖м ал-булдāн, 1321–1331), и реконструкции карты навигационных маршрутов этого участка Средиземного моря. Основным объектом исследования является детальное описание данного участка морского побережья, перевод которого приводится в статье. Отдельные фрагменты описания имеют форму морской лоции, но при этом отличаются от портоланов отсутствием указаний на расстояния между портовыми городами. Приводимые Абу-л-Фидой координатные данные о городах азиатского побережья Средиземного моря представлены в таблице. Основное внимание уделено многоплановому информационному контексту, в котором создавалось сочинение Абу-л-Фиды и выявлению его источников о портовых городах азиатской части Средиземного моря. В статье показано, что описание было составлено самим Абу-л-Фидой на основании различных источников — трудов исламских ученых X–XIII вв., в том числе представителей астрономической географии, а также современных географу сведений о мореплавании в бассейне Средиземного моря. The paper is devoted to the analysis of information on port cities of the Asian part of the Mediterranean coast in the geographical work of the Syrian geographer and historian Abū al-Fidā’, “Systematization of countries” (Taqwīm al-buldān, 1321–1331), and reconstruction of the map of navigation routes of this section of the Mediterranean Sea. The main object of the study is a detailed description of the Mediterranean coast of Asia, the translation of which into Russian is given in the paper. Some fragments of the description have the form of a sailing pilot, but at the same time they differ from the portolans in the absence of indication of the distance between coastal points. Coordinate data on the cities of the Asian coast of the Mediterranean Sea given by Abū al-Fidā’ are presented in the table. The main attention is paid to the multifaceted informational context in which the treatise of Abū al-Fidā’ was created and the identification of its sources about the port cities of the Asian part of the Mediterranean. The paper shows that the description of the Asian coast of the Mediterranean Sea was compiled by Abū al-Fidā’ himself on the basis of various sources — the works of Islamic scholars of the 10th – 13thcenturies, including representatives of astronomical geography, as well as actual information about navigation in the Mediterranean basin.
