Delivery of VoD services on PONs using local storages: Analysis of QoS

Abstract

For the first time, we conduct packet level simulations of Video-on-Demand over Passive Optical Networks with local storages. We propose that strategic placement of a local storage can enable the services to be delivered with improved Quality-of-Service to the end user.
