Extracting spatiotemporal and semantic events from documents

Abstract

The methods demonstrated through this work support automated annotation of spatiotemporal semantic event information associated with natural hazards, such as power outages, cancellations, and emergency response associated with hurricanes, floods, or drought as reported in web news reports.
