Parylene conformal coatings for printed circuit board applications

Abstract

With the advent of electronic PCB's being used in an ever increasing variety of applications, e.g. automotive ignition and engine control, industrial processing, petrochemical control systems, military and aerospace, etc., it becomes apparent a good environmental and/or mechanical protection is needed for PCB's. The purpose of this paper is to explain the reasons parylene coatings can be of advantage as a conformal coating for PCB's.
