Abstract

Sleep breathing disorders are health conditions that may affect several aspects of life and have been brought to light over the last five decades. Polysomnography is a golden standard measurement for sleep study. Moreover, it requires special equipment and a sleep laboratory. In this paper, an algorithm for continuous respiratory monitoring using nasal pressure airflow measurement for portable monitoring systems is developed. It allows detecting precisely, inhale and exhale peaks in airflow signal. Hence, essential parameters and different analyses of the airflow signal are determined.
