The antenna has very small size as 12x18 mm2. Yet, it still can produce very wide operating bandwidth. The modified planar antenna fulfills the requirement for ultra-wideband (UWB) applications which need operating bandwidth from 3.1 GHz to 10.6 GHz. The significant parameters of the proposed antenna are defined clearly in this paper. Simulated results are observes and analyzed. Overall, the proposed antenna produces acceptable gain for UWB application between 2.6 dBi to 5.7 dBi. Abstract
