We also discuss the feasibility of employing this mucilage as a unique active ingredient in organic sunscreens because of its optical characteristics. Abstract

Opuntia is a cactaceae widely known because of its nutritional properties. However, this distinguished plant has other benefits that may be used in non-conventional applications.
