Abstract
In this work, comparative studies on electrical and photometric performance of three different, commercially available, LED lighting systems along with the verification of their compliance with relevant Indian and International Standards are presented. Linear modeling of each LED module is carried out to obtain their threshold voltage and dynamic resistance. Teardown of each LED-module and driver is carried out to study their respective topologies. Laboratory experimentation is carried out to obtain the electrical and photometric performance of the LED lighting systems with both AC and DC supply. From the obtained results it can be identified which design topology yields better electrical and photometric performance. The results are compared with relevant Indian as well as International Standards to verify the compliance of the individual LED lighting systems with the referred standards.
