Abstract

Predictive torque control for induction motor is a control strategy uses the model of the motor drive and an appropriate cost function to directly control torque and flux. This strategy is easy to implement but depends upon parameters of motor drive. This paper presents the design and analysis of a sliding mode flux observer to improve the parameter robustness. The observer estimates the stationary reference frame flux of the induction motor by using sliding mode terms based on the current mismatches and flux mismatches.
