Abstract
The paper introduces analysis and simulation results regarding a DS spread spectrum system in which the principle of noncoherent matched filter synchronization for acquisition of the code synchronization is used. Approximations of the probabilities of detection and false alarms and the mean acquisition times of noncoherent matched filter synchronization in continuous tone jamming are introduced when a complementary code pair is used as a spreading code. The idea of using median type filtering as an aid for the matched filter is tested for the noncoherent case. It is shown that continuous jamming can have a very dramatic influence on P/sub d/, P/sub fa/, and T/sub MA/. The influence can be decreased efficiently by using a median filter.<>
