After adding a coupled line, the WBPF is transformed to a dual-band band pass filter (DBPF). A reconfigurable wideband/dual-band filtering antenna is obtained through the integration of the reconfigurable filter and a wide-band monopole antenna. The functions of the filtering antenna are controlled by the PIN diodes. The operating impedance bandwidth of the wideband filtering antenna is from 1.27 to 3.47 GHz, while the dual-band filtering antenna is from 1.25 to 1.88 GHz and from 2.84 to 3.24 GHz.
