Abstract

In lifelong anti-retroviral (ARV) treatment, the resistance of People With HIV AIDS (PLWHA) is very important because the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), attacking or infecting T lymphocytes, causes a decrease in the immune system. As a result, it causes physical, psychological, independence, social, environmental, and spiritual problems. One factor that can affect PLWHA compliance in undergoing ARV treatment therapy is the role of peer support groups. The degree of PLWHA compliance with ARV can reduce the rate of pain and even death from HIV. Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the relationship between the social support provided to peer groups with the level of information compliance with ARV on ODHIV in the Equal Support Group of Jombang Care Center Plus. Method: This study is a cross-sectional analytical survey. The sample consists of 30 ODHIVs, with urposive sampling techniques. The social support of peer groups and level of information adherenced ARV measured using quizzes. The statistical test used is the somers'd test.  Results: The results of the study showed that the social support of peer groups with the level of ARV information adherence to PLWHA was positively correlated with moderate strength (p-value 0.003 and correlation coefficient 0.397) Conclusion: There was a relationship between peer-group social support and the level of information adherence on ARV at PLWHA at Jombang Care Center Plus.
