SSA –based preprocessing improves the performance of direction of arrival (DOA) estimation. Adaptive variant of SSA method is used in the paper. In the particular case when the frequencies of signals are the same, the spatial smoothing procedure is used. The embedding procedure of SSA is explained using selection matrices by analogy to spatial smoothing. The obtained DOA estimates can be used for signal reconstruction and recognition.
