Abstract
Based on magnetic control antenna coupling adjustment, a UHF RFID sensing method is proposed in this paper. The proposed magnetic control antenna coupler consists of a reed switch and radiator coupler. Controlled by a magnet, the reed switch has two states, on and off, and thus the antenna coupler has two states with different resonant frequencies and coupling performance. Coupling this coupler with RFID commercial tag results in the tag working state change. This is mainly reflected in RSS and phase results by the reader. This RFID sensing method uses magnets for wireless passive sensing of various actions. It does not require the design of a specific tag, and sensing functions can be achieved by using commercial tags. Two applications based on the method are shown to reflect its convenience and efficiency. It has good application potential in health assistance, the Internet of things and smart home.
