Abstract

A good comprehensive study of the electromagnetic properties of biological layers is important since we cannot discuss an implantable antenna design without investigating the interaction of electromagnetic radiation with the tissue. The human body is not an ideal medium for the transmission of radio waves which can be considered as a barrier degrading the performance of the transmission system that uses the human body as a propagation channel. This paper deals with some notions of electromagnetic characteristics of body tissues and their dependency to the frequency.
