Notes on the Romanian Language in Transnistria

Abstract

As the title announces, the present article proposed the description of the Romanian language from Transnistria, based on literary sources recently published by Vladimir Beşleagă: Destine transnistrene and Tata Vasile. The particularities identified, mostly in the vocabulary, but also in the field of morphology, allow the qualification „living speech” for the local idiom. The preservation of some vocabulary facts, belonging to the old language, the creation of new lexemes from own resources and the absorption of loanwords from the tutelary languages, Russian and Ukrainian, fully justify the qualification.
