A short course on world culture

Abstract

Abstract Today, some ten years after the Chair of the ‘History and Theory of World Culture’ was first set up in the Faculty of Philosophy at Moscow State University (MGU), it is possible to look back and tentatively piece together the elements which comprised both its undoubted successes — and some of its failures. It is tempting to suggest that in many ways its short history bears witness to the vagaries of the ‘Russian mind’.
