Abstract
For the present, we observe the lack of trustworthy study results on nanoparticles in dental preparations provoking somatic diseases or other negative effects in the body. Nevertheless, due to the accelerated development of the nanopreparation industry, the interest in the research on their safety for humans is high. Since nanotechnology and nanopreparations have a number of practical advantages, there is no doubt that the market for materials and preparations made with nanoparticles will expand.
This review analyzes data from 33 foreign research papers devoted to toxicity assessment of nanopreparations, published in 20152020 and obtained through the search in the PubMed open database. Our findings could be helpful for researchers and dentists in evaluating the possibility of extrapolation of the scientific results to the dental preparations containing nanoparticles.
