The Status and Perspective of Electrical Machining Industry and Academia in China

Abstract

This paper briefs the status of Chinese electromachining industry and academia, explains the major responsibility of Chinese Society of Nontraditional Machining and the activities organized by the society. The outline of Chinese electromachining industry is also drawn for sketching a big picture in many aspects including the major products and their special features as well as their primary applications. Some new technology derived machine tools with unique functionality are also revealed. The research interests and some achievements of Chinese research institutions are introduced as well.
