Abstract

A novel band-notched ultra-wideband wide-slot antenna fed with a microstrip-line is presented. The antenna is composed of a circular microstrip patch and a semicircular arc cut on the ground of the microstrip line. By embedding a simple arc-shaped slot in the circular microstrip patch, an ultra- wideband (UWB, 3.1-10.6 GHz) operation with a notched frequency band can be obtained.
