Growth of SHG-Bank Linkage Programme -- A Comparative Study of Six Regions in India

Abstract

The SHG-Bank Linkage Programme in India has been a flag-ship programme of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), with the objective of enabling the poorest of the poor to access financial resources to increase household income and to achieve sustained livelihood. The purpose of the study was to explore the penetration and growth trend of SBL programme in the six regional divisions of India.
