Subsequently, the shortcomings of these concepts and the need for research that has been identified will be discussed. A framework for industrial value networks which supports horizontal and vertical integration in Industrie 4.0 and which is based on the S-BMP method is supposed to be a solution for overcoming to days shortcomings. Abstract

Industrie 4.0 challenges machines and stakeholders to get connected as a collaborative community. In the beginning, this paper will introduce Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) as well as Industrie 4.0 and will outline the underlying characteristics.
