The author of the article notes the key achievements of Soviet party functionaries, researchers and architects in the development of the northern territories. It is noted that energy production has become an impetus for the development of the Arctic. In addition, the article concludes about the continuity of the modern architecture of the Arctic and the preservation of paternalism in the development of this region. It is concluded that to this day the consequences of the short-sighted Soviet policy in the field of resettlement of citizens in the North, as well as in the field of designing single-industry towns, remain.
