Description of Archival Holdings of the International Monetary Fund and the Project to Make Descriptions Available Online

Abstract

The Archives of the International Monetary Fund have successfully conducted an ambitious project to produce standardized description of the archival holdings of the institution and make these descriptions widely available online through the use of the software Adlib. This paper will examine the different steps that made this project possible, the lessons learned during the process and the way forward for this excellent project.
