The present study explores the occupational stress among library professionals working in Universities of Punjab and Chandigarh. Data was collected from 301 library professionals working in Central libraries of the 24 universities in Punjab and Chandigarh through a self-constructed questionnaire. The data collected was tabulated and transformed into SPSS spreadsheet and then analyzed as per the objectives of the study. The aim of this study was to compare occupational stress with respect to demographic variables; gender, marital status, professional qualification and type of university in which they are working. Results of the study revealed that no significant difference was found in the level of occupational stress among library professionals according to their gender and marital status. Library professionals working in Private and Deemed Universities were found to be more stressed than the library professionals working in State and Central Universities.
