Abstract
Pipeline systems are composed of various instruments, electrical panels, valves, and equipment that must all work in harmony in order to operate correctly and safely. It is frequently not considered that a complete system also includes equipment for product metering, area grounding, and even site fencing. All components must be installed without adversely affecting the cathodic protection system that is required to maintain the integrity and protection of the underground piping, as well as maintain personnel safety. This paper focuses on our discoveries as we expanded our electrical power concerns to include cathodic protection of the piping
