Vehicular information & communications technology (VICT) system

Abstract

Many countries in the developing world are currently affected by crises and security threats, including growing rates of regional instability, the proliferation of illegal drugs and weapons, cross border migration and increases to organized crime. It follows that public safety organizations in developing countries are faced with increasingly volatile environments—sometimes in absence of resources that they direly need. Among these resources are modern technological and tactical tools that help to provide timely response to crises situations, aid in conflict prevention and support day-to-day management functions. To this end, the design and implementation of an integrated homogenous Vehicular Information and Communications Technology (VICT) system, which must be robust, resilient and secure, can be significant force multiplier.
